The ICC is located centrally in Birmingham city centre and is easily accessible by road from all over the UK. Visitors from any direction can travel in to Birmingham using many different routes connected to the following motorways: M1, M5, M6, M6 Toll, M40 and M42.
There is abundant, secure multi-storey parking available located within the Barclaycard Arena, which is just a short walk away from the ICC. Both the ICC and Barclaycard Arena are signposted on motorways and major roads and are marked on most road maps.
Redevelopment of Paradise Birmingham Paradise is a £500m development that will transform the centre of Birmingham and is less than 5 minutes’ walk form the ICC, attracting new businesses, jobs and visitors to the city. It is on the site of the old Birmingham Central Library and the phase 1 demolition works are now in completion. There are new road routes around this area, although from 19th June 2016 some restrictions have been lifted and roads reopened, improving journeys in the local area. Signposts are in place for diversions and routes surrounding the ICC loading bays and parking facilities are now open. The ICC is served by the UK’s largest interchange rail station, Birmingham New Street and the smaller Five Ways Station. Both stations are a short walk from the ICC and taxi ranks are situated close by. Birmingham New Street has direct and regular services to Birmingham International railway station which directly links to Birmingham International Airport and The NEC. It also has many direct services to London Euston, including a service that takes just 80 minutes and runs every 20 minutes.
Birmingham’s two other city centre train stations, Moor St and Snow Hill, are also within quick and easy access of the ICC and directly connected to London Marylebone via a half hourly service. Download our maps for walking directions from the 3 main city centre train stations.

The ICC is located in the well-known, accessible Broad Street area of Birmingham city centre, adjacent to Brindleyplace and Centenary Square. Download this city map and follow the below the directions.
From Birmingham International Airport simply take the free and fast Air-Rail Link to Birmingham International railway station and then catch a train to New Street Station in Birmingham City Centre, which takes about 10 minutes and operates up to 9 times an hour.
Alternatively, take a taxi from outside the airport to the ICC, which is 8 miles away.

Michele Carter, Group Head of Organisation Effectiveness, AIB
Michele Carter is Group Head of Organisation Effectiveness in AIB, an Executive Board Member in the Institute of Banking and a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development. Michele has over 20 years experience as a HR practitioner in both the private and public sector. Michele’s wealth of international experience gained working in GE and the UK public sector has aided with her more recent leadership roles in AIB leading out on large scale transformation programmes.
At AIB and in these previous roles she has extensive experience working with senior leaders designing people strategies to enable organisations to transform and deliver long term business success. Michele is passionate about working with leaders and teams to be at their best, developing creative solutions to build talent and teams for the future and evolving cultures to drive high performance and engagement.
Her specialist areas encompass Talent Management, Leadership Development and Coaching, Organisation Transformation and Organisation Design.
Michele holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and BA degree in Psychology.
Pedro Angulo, Head of Leadership Development, AIB
Pedro Angulo is Head of Leadership Development in AIB, Programme Director in the IMI (Irish Management Institute) Diploma in Strategic HRM and President of the Irish EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council).
A customer focused professional with over 15 years HR / Change management consulting experience. He has previously worked in senior management roles in Deloitte, IBM Business Consulting Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers and eircom. He has led the design and implementation of large-scale change and human resources interventions with both national and international clients, in the public and private sectors.
Recognised as an organisational behavior, leadership and change management subject-matter expert. Author of “Managing People” – A book used by the Institute of Bankers in Ireland in its Bachelor of Financial Services Degree. Other published work includes “Irresistible Leadership”; “12 ways HR can add value to the customer experience”; “A Model for Changing Organisational Culture” and “If People Are Our Greatest Asset …Why Are Traditional Recruitment & Retention Strategies Not Working?”.
Fellow Member of the Institute of Management Consultant and Advisors (IMCA) Accredited in Emotional Intelligence, DISC and The 5 behaviours of a cohesive team.
